Female Sculpture 'Siesta', by Christine Baxter
Siesta is one of Christine Baxter's newest sculptures. All pieces are cast by Christine in her Monmouthshire studio and personally hand finished to ensure attention to detail and finish.
Bronze resin is a cold cast method that involves real but powdered bronze being added to the resin and cast into the mould. The surface is then polished to shine the metal content. Patinas are then applied to the surface as with conventionally produced bronzes, so the appearance is the same as bronze but a fraction of the cost. A variety of traditional bronze colour finishes can be achieved with different patinas. It is frost and weather proof.
