Renee's artistic journey started in Sweden as a painter. She Tried all known materials, she always finished work unsatisfied. It was only when she took her first pottery class that she realised what was missing, Glaze! she needed to paint with glazes- where magic happens in the firing process.
In 1994 she moved to London to study Ceramic Design at Central saint Martins. During that time, she also worked as an assistant to ceramic artist Kate Malone (currently a judge at "The Pottery Throw Down"). This was where she understood that clay could become so much more than what she had experienced up to that point.
renee's work has developed since then to be tactile, painterly and truly unique. Stoneware clay really can become bright and have "movement" when fired.
her inspiration comes from the nature around me. Interpreting what she has seen more than copying. As there is so much beauty she just keeps on going!

below is a small sample of the wide range of renee's pieces exhibited at court robert arts. please
